ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Health (NIH) has recently detected the first case of Omicron sub-variant BA.2.12.1 in Pakistan.
"The NIH has discovered the first case of Omicron sub-variant BA.2.12.1. This new sub-variant is increasing cases in several nations," the health organisation warned in a Tweet.
The NIH advised people to get vaccinated against the virus as a preventive measure to avoid contracting the virus. Moreover, they also recommended all those due for boosters to get the shots immediately.
