CMH holds oral health camp for Kasur's rural community

LAHORE: CMH Lahore Medical College’s Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry, in collaboration with Transparent Hands, recently held a dental camp at Mokal village of Kasur district to promote oral hygiene and preventive dental care.

A dedicated team of faculty members—Dr. Ali, Dr. Javariya, Dr. Ehtisham, and Dr. Nimra—along with seven House Officers, participated in the camp under the supervision of Dr. Asma Shakoor, Head of the Department.

During the camp, the CMH dental team conducted free oral check-ups for patients of all ages, offering tailored advice on maintaining oral health.

To promote good dental habits, toothpaste and toothbrushes were distributed among those who attended the camp.

A key feature of the camp was an oral health awareness session, where the local community was educated on brushing techniques and preventive measures to avoid common issues like tooth decay and gum disease. The session emphasised the importance of small daily habits in maintaining oral health.

This outreach initiative provided much-needed education and resources to a community with limited access to dental care.

Dr. Asma Shakoor played a pivotal role in organising the programme, demonstrating a commitment to improving oral health in underserved areas.
