KARACHI: Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry (LCMD) Continuous Dental Education Committee organised a two-day workshop on public dental health to develop strategies to improve community oral health.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Munnawar ul Haque, Head of the Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry at LCMD.
On the first day, Dr. Haque delivered a series of lectures covering the fundamentals of dental public health, including program planning, execution, and evaluation.
He also discussed oral health disparities and highlighted initiatives by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the FDI World Dental Federation aimed at reducing these inequalities.
The second day featured specialised skill development and training sessions, providing the participants with the opportunity to develop and present their oral health projects, engaging in discussions with their peers and the audience.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Uzma Zareef, Chairperson of the Continuous Dental Education Committee at LCMD.
