KARACHI: In a joint operation conducted by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) and Sindh police, a “factory” manufacturing fake drugs was unearthed in the New Karachi area of the city and three suspects were arrested.
As per police officials, in the raid a large quantity of fake life-saving medicines and raw material were also recovered.
The officials said two manufacturing units, 10 different types of machines, and dyes have also been recovered in the factory, where different types of fake medicines, including antibiotics, were being manufactured.
They said the three arrested suspects used to make copies of many medicines and supply these to small medical stores.
