KARACHI: Colgate-Palmolive, the worldwide leader in oral care, has recently organized Colgate awards ceremony for the graduates who securing the highest marks in the subjects of Community Dentistry and Periodontology in various dental colleges.
Colgate is a leading name that continuously strives to provide the best oral care products to solve multiple dental problems and also one of the oldest partner of the dental fraternity in Pakistan.
Keeping in view the same, Colgate awarded a Gold Medal, Shield, certificate, and a cash prize among the students of Ziauddin College of Dentistry, Bahria University Medical & Dental College, Hamdard College of Medicine & Dentistry and Jinnah Medical and Dental College, Karachi.

ZIAUDDIN COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY
The ceremony was graced by Prof Dr Mervyn Hosein (Principal - ZCD) and Dr Abbas Zafar (Dean-Faculty of Health Sciences).
The winners of the Colgate awards were Dr Jaweria Memon - Community Dentistry, and Dr Mahlaqa Maroof Ahmed – Periodontology.
The Chief Guest gave the winners a Gold Medal, a cash Prize of PKR-10000/-, a Colgate Shield and Certificate.
The ceremony was also attended by the HOD - Community and Periodontology department along with the other faculty members of the same department.
BAHRIA UNIVERSITY MEDICAL & DENTAL COLLEGE
The Rector & Director General Bahria University was the chief guest on the occasion and also the ceremony was attended, among others, by the Dean, Principal and Vice Principal of the Dental section. HODs of the Community dentistry and Periodontology departments were also present.
Dr Anmol Zaman Satti - Community Dentistry, and Dr Umm-e-Habiba – Periodontology was declare award winner students.
The Rector and the Principal of the dental section appreciated and thanked Colgate-Palmolive for organizing the awards.
HAMDARD COLLEGE OF MEDICINE & DENTISTRY
At the Hamdard University Dental Hospital annual dinner, Colgate awards were given to Dr Hafsa Munir - Community Dentistry and Dr Areesha Saleem – Periodontology.
Dr Syed Imran Hasan, principal dental section, was the chief guest on occasion and distributed the awards carried gold medal, shield and certificate, and cash prize of Rs 10,000/ each.
JINNAH MEDICAL AND DENTAL COLLEGE
The ceremony recently organized for the recipients of Colgate awards at JMDC.
The principal of the dental section, Dr Junaid Lakhani, presented and distributed the award to the winners were Dr Saba Jawed - Community Dentistry and Dr Shaeroz Raza Periodontology.
Dr Syed Sarosh Mehdi -Head of Community dentistry, and Dr Ujala Head of the Periodontology department, were also present at the occasion.
All the Principals of the dental colleges expressed their gratitude towards this initiative taken by Colgate Palmolive to encourage students to perform better and work harder, as well as strengthen the ties between the fraternity and Colgate-Palmolive with such activities.
