LAHORE-Illustrious dental surgeon Prof M. A. Soofi passed away in Lahore. He was 86 and one of the senior most dental surgeons in the country and has had a very distinguished career.
Prof. Dr. M. A. Soofi was a known scientist of international repute in Community Dentistry. He retired as Principal of College of Community Medicine, Lahore in 1991. Earlier, he was heading the Department of Public Health Dentistry in Country's important Institute of Preventive Medicine Lahore.
He was an acclaimed and renowned dentist and a revered expert of Periodontology. He ran the Gums Surgery Clinic in Lahore. He was also an ex member of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), and ex-President Pakistan Dental Association. Prof M A Soofi was regarded as one of the most influential and respected dentists of his time. He wrote many books and always took pride in the fact that he had worked with Quaid-e-Azam.
