KARACHI: Hamdard University Dental Hospital second-year BDS students conducted dental checkups of school children at KPT Girls/Boys Secondary School in Kemari and Manora.
The activity was a part of a community well-being initiative led by Dr Syed Muzammil Ali Shah, Dr Saima Asim, Dr Shikoh Naz and Dr Mudassir.
After being warmly received by the school principals, the team started student’s dental check-ups, class by class. The BDS students also imparted oral health awareness among the school children through engaging awareness lectures, stressing the significance of oral hygiene, proper brushing techniques, and the crucial connection between oral health and overall well-being.
The activity concluded with a visit to Manora Beach, where recreational activities not only provided relaxation but also nurtured friendships and unity among the students.
The activity, ably guided by dedicated instructors, not only offered dental care but also created awareness and compassion among the students, serving as a poignant reminder of the potent combination of education and empathy in creating a healthier and happier community.
