LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has announced student-friendly changes in the application process for admissions to both government and private medical colleges, commencing in mid-October.
Under the new arrangement, the UHS will oversee admissions to both private medical and dental colleges, ensuring a centralised and efficient admission process in alignment with the Punjab government's admission policy.
UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Ahsan Wahid Rathoor says this centralised approach will eliminate the need for students and parents to submit separate applications for each college, allowing candidates to select their desired colleges through a single portal.
Prof Rathoor emphasised that centralised admissions will uphold the principles of merit, ensuring fairness and transparency.
Furthermore, it was announced that admissions to both government and private medical colleges will open simultaneously, allowing students to apply for medical college admissions concurrently. The application fee for medical colleges has been set at Rs2,000.
The UHS has also issued guidelines and instructions for candidates seeking admission to private colleges.
