KARACHI: Keeping in view the serious global health challenge posed by oral diseases affecting millions, leading to serious complications, Bahria University Dental College (BUDC) Community Dentistry Department (CDD) recently organized a free dental checkup camp at Taleem Gah Dukhtaran-e-Awam Trust Girls High School in DHA, Azam Town Phase 1.

The camp was conducted by the BUDC healthcare professional team, including Dr. Maria Moin,  Assistant Professor and Head of CDD, Dr. Mohsin Haider, Senior Lecturer, Dr. Rabbia Imtiaz Lecturer in Community Dentistry, and second-year BDS students.

The camp catered to 500 students from both the primary and secondary sections, who underwent dental checkups, received demonstrations on proper tooth-brushing techniques, and were guided on maintaining good oral hygiene.

The dental team recorded the oral health conditions of all the students on validated WHO forms, adhering to strict sterilisation and cross-infection protocols at the camp.

The overall oral hygiene of the students was found to be satisfactory, and the school principal and staff lauded the BUDC team for their efforts and raising awareness.

The team remains committed to continuing these educational sessions, aiming to address any further questions or concerns and to promote oral health awareness in the community.
