Bahria University was established by Pakistan Navy through a presidential ordinance in 2000. Every year, this milestone is celebrated across all the campuses. The 19th foundation day was celebrated at BUMDC this year, which was followed by cultural day celebrations. The day began with a graceful ceremony held in the BUMDC courtyard at 9.30 am to commemorate the Foundation Day. The courtyard was embellished with the prime colors of Bahria University depicting the zeal and enthusiasm of Bahrians. All the faculty members, students and staff attended the ceremony. Honorable Director General BUMDC Rear Admiral Imtiaz Ahmed (Retd), HI (M), hoisted the national flag with full honors while faculty, students and staff members sang the national anthem with pride.
Flag hoisting was followed by cake cutting ceremony, which was decorated with Bahria University logo. Director General BUMDC Rear Admiral Imtiaz HI (M) along with Prof Asad Ullah Khan (Dean & Principal of Medical Section), Prof Wahab Kadri (Principal Dental Section), Dr Khalid Aziz (Vice Principal Physiotherapy section), Dr Ambreen Usmani (Vice Principal Medical Section) and Dr Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi (Vice Principal Dental Section) cut the cake.
After the commemoration of Foundation Day, all students and faculty members headed towards the Ibn-e-Sina Auditorium for the Cultural Day celebrations. After the ceremony ended in the auditorium, all students and faculty members moved outside where different stalls were set up by the event club. The exquisite stalls highlighted the classy handicrafts from all over the country. Sindh, Punjab, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit Baltistan cultural specialties were displayed. Different cuisines were presented that tickled the taste buds of the attendees. The entire ceremony of Foundation and Cultural Day gave impetus to the fact that Bahria University is a torch bearer not only in academic field but also in extracurricular sphere, and this makes it unique in the league.
