KARACHI: A seminar highlighted the importance of dental occlusion in dentistry, conducted by Prof Dr Abrar, head of operative dentistry dept, Hamdard Dental College (HDC) and College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) supervisor.
It was attended by Hamdard Dental College faculty members, Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS) trainees and students.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abrar said occlusion is frequently overlooked when it comes to providing patients with dental restorations.
He said occlusion is an integral part of dental treatment as dentists cannot repair, move or remove teeth without affecting occlusion.
He explained in detail the basic concept of dental occlusion and its implications in clinical dentistry, saying it is the relationship between the maxillary and mandibular teeth at rest and in function.
Hamdard College of Medicine and Dentistry (HCMD) Principal Prof Dr Syed Imran Hassan appreciated the contribution of Dr Abrar in continuing education at the Hamdard Dental College.
