Hong Kong: The Hong Kong Dental Association organized KHIDEAS conference recently in Hong Kong. The conference comprised of scientific sessions, a trade exhibition and Inaugural Belt and Road Summit comprising of countries on the route of belt and road initiative.
The conference was attended by Dr. Patrick Hescot, FDI President. Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) was represented at the conference by Prof Dr. Arshad Hasan.
At the inaugural ceremony, opening remarks were made by Dr Sigmund Leung, President Hong Kong Dental Association. This was followed by the scientific session. Some notable speakers who presented in this session include Dr Lii Lim from Singapore who discussing facing problems of the aged population and their dental needs, and Dr Frankie So who spoke about successful school programs in Hong Kong responsible for lowering caries in children. These programs are unique as school buses carry children to dental colleges for treatment.
The conference was concluded with a closing Ceremony along with a grand gala dinner. In order to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong becoming the special administrative region of China, there was also a signing ceremony between HK Dental Assocciaton and China Dental Association.
