RAWALPINDI: The College of Dentistry, Margalla Institute of Health Sciences (MIHS), recently organised an educational event for its students and faculty in collaboration with GSK Consumer Healthcare Pakistan Limited.
Prof. Dr Amjad Mahmood, Principal, MIHS, Prof. Dr Shakir Khan, Vice Principal, MIHS and other senior faculty graced the event with their presence.
The event's main objective was to educate students and house officers about tooth sensitivity and gum health.
Tooth sensitivity and bleeding gums are among the most common complaints reported at the dental OPDs every day. Spreading awareness, especially prevention and oral hygiene instructions, positively impacts patients' oral health besides treating oral diseases.
A GSK representative shared the mode of action of Parodontax, Sensodyne, and the research conducted on these products' efficacy. The faculty gave valuable feedback regarding using these products among their patients and the techniques used to prevent sensitivity in clinical settings. A kiosk was set to perform sensitivity tests among the dental students and dentists.
Souvenirs were distributed at the end of the event.
