ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar and Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid took effective steps to ensure patient safety and access to high-quality medical care.
Rs. 525 million has been released to purchase the most recent MRI and CT Scan machines for Lahore General Hospital, for which a formal notification has also been issued, and further progress has also been initiated.
Prof. Dr Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI), stated that the purchase of both machines would be completed by June 30, 2022, and that MS LGH Dr Khalid Bin Aslam and AMS Purchase Dr Zeeshan Haider have also been directed to expedite the process of machine purchase so that patients can benefit from this facility as soon as possible.
He stated that the 1.5 Tesla MRI and 128 slice CT Scan machines for LGH show that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Government is taking a special interest in providing state-of-the-art treatment and modern diagnostic facilities to the people of the province, particularly the CM Punjab and the Health Minister, who have taken revolutionary steps in the Health Sector.
Prof Al-freed said that millions of rupees had been generously provided for this purpose, resulting in pleasant and positive changes in the health sector.
Patients have to spend huge capital on diagnostic tests in private institutions, and now these thousands of rupees will be saved, which will reduce the financial burden of medical treatment on the common man. Moreover, patients will get easy treatment through complex tests, and they will be able to recover quickly.
