KARACHI - Fatima Jinnah Dental College and Hospital has achieved another milestone, and have become the first dental institute in Karachi to provide Laser Treatment for Dental Procedures. Fatima Jinnah Dental College has promptly started research projects in the field of Orthodontics and Periodontics related to the Laser Treatment.
FJDC in association with Combine Engineers has procured “Lasotronix”. Prof. Dr. Saqib Rasheed, Head of Department of Operative Dentistry, is the first trainer and instructor to be certified for providing laser treatment. He is also giving training sessions on behalf of the Lasotronix Company locally and internationally.
Laser treatment is the latest development in the field of Dentistry. It is being used for surgical procedures, periodontal treatment, intra canal disinfection in Endodontics, bio-stimulation for orthodontic movements and healing of the joints and tissues etc.
A demonstration and hands on session was organized by Combined Engineers for all the Head of Departments of FJDC. Dr. Baqar Askary CEO, Fatima Jinnah Dental College inaugurated the session. Demonstration of the machine was given by Mr. Muhammad Altash Butt, CEO and his team from Combine Engineers.
A lot of interest and discussion was generated during this session, attended by Prof. Tasleem Hosein, Principal Fatima Jinnah Dental College; Prof. Babur Ashraf, Prof. Murtaza Kazmi, Prof. Hasan Mehdi, Associate Prof. Abubakar Shaikh, Associate Prof. Fauzia Mujeeb, Associate Prof. Dr. Sameer Quraishi, Assistant Prof. Zia ur Rehman, Assistant Prof. Ashar Jamelle, and senior faculty members Dr. Jahangir Abbas, and Dr. Hamid Baig. This facility of laser treatment will be extended to the patients who opt to utilize this mode of treatment.
