Karachi- With the efforts of the Honourable Vice Chancellor DUHS, Prof. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy, two Forensic Odontologists have been inducted in the Dental Faculty of Dow University of Health Sciences. DUHS is now the only health sciences institute in Pakistan to have this honor. The other Forensic Odontologists serve at the Health Department of Government of Punjab.
Efforts are underway to teach this now-missing specialty as a separate examination subject, with the visionary support and guidance of the competent authority, from next year.
The two new members, Dr Saman Shoro and Dr Falak Shah, both are graduates of Liaquat University of Medical Health Sciences, Jamshoro. They acquired 2-year Master’s in Forensic Odontology from University of Dundee, United Kingdom.
