Sindh CM cancels MDCAT results, orders FIA probe

KARACHI: Given the controversy surrounding the conduct of recent Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT), Sindh caretaker Chief Minister retired Justice Maqbool Baqar has finally ordered cancellation of the entry test results.

As per Sindh government spokesman, the chief minister has assigned the task of re-conducting the MDCAT to the Dow University, while asking the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to hold an inquiry into the earlier exercise that sparked allegations of paper leak and use of unfair means.

Justice Baqar said the date for re-conduct of the MDCAT would be issued soon.

Meanwhile, Sindh Health Minister says a high-level committee has been constituted to probe into MDCAT paper leak under the health department special secretary, including Registrar IBA, deputy secretary Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) and FIA cybercrime director.

Board and Universities Department additional secretary and deputy secretary (technical) are also members of the committee.
