LARKANA: A poster contest on the theme ‘Mouth-Body Connection’ was recently organized by the Community Dentistry Department at the Bibi Asifa Dental College (BADC), Larkana, for from second-year BDS students
The competition was participated in by nine groups who presented posters on the critical link between oral health and overall well-being.
The event was attended by faculty members from Chandka Medical College (CMC) and BADC, house officers, and students, besides Dean of Dentistry, BADC principal, director of academics, director of sports, and the vice principal.
Judges belonging to various specialties evaluated the presentations and announced winners who were awarded shields at a ceremony.
Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Larkana's vice chancellor graced the occasion as the chief guest. The VC engaged in detailed discussions with students and faculty, emphasising the importance of research on the mouth-body connection, and encouraged the pursuit of further academic endeavours.
The session concluded with the VC presenting shields to the students in recognition of their hard work, urging them to continue their participation in such academic activities.
Dr A Bari Memon, Chairperson of the BADC Community Dentistry Department, delivered the vote of thanks and lauded the students for their dedication. He highlighted the importance of understanding the link between oral and overall health.
The competition proved to be a valuable academic exercise, broadening students' understanding of holistic healthcare approaches and providing a platform to showcase their research and knowledge.
