Since January 2019, every week Head of Community Dentistry Department of Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC), Dr Sarosh Mahdi and Assistant Professor Dr Maria K. Siddiqui, supported by lecturers, Dr Hafsa Abrar and Dr Danial Agha, organize oral health promotion programs in different schools of Karachi. Following the tradition the students of second year BDS visited Narayan Jagannath High School (NJV), Lycee School, The Educators and Government Schools on a community outreach visit. Moreover, our dental undergraduates conducted oral examination of all the students from respective schools. As it is imperative to maintain good oral hygiene for a healthy life our team provided basic information to the students regarding their oral health status, infection control; they demonstrated proper oral care by showing the children correct brushing techniques on typodonts, and motivated them by supplying goody bags containing dental healthcare products. JMDC aims to continue such dental visits and camps for educating the children of our society.
