Community Dentistry Department of Dental Section at Jinnah Medical Dental College (JMDC) organized World Oral Health Day on March 20th. General public and school children were offered free samples and dental checkups. Government Boys’ Sharafabad Secondary School, Key Stone Academy and Askari College were invited specially to JMDC for free dental screening. Head of Department of Community Dentistry Dr Syed Sarosh Mahdi, Assistant Professor Dr Maria Khadija, Lecturers, Dr Danial Agha and Dr Hafsa Jafri organized the program to raise awareness about the precedence of oral hygiene. Students of 2nd year BDS showed zealous participation in the event as they prepared vibrant and attractive posters on various themes of dental hygiene to highlight different aspects of oral hygiene maintenance. Moreover, a picture booth was set up and goody bags were provided for primary school children.
The event concluded with a CME session comprising of the lecture on ‘background and importance of WOHD’ delivered by Dr Hafsa Jafri, followed by informative messages from senior faculty members and Head of Dental Section, JMDC, Dr Mohsin Girach.
