KARACHI: The Bahria University Dental College (BUDC) Department of Pediatric and Operative Dentistry recently conducted a hands-on workshop on the application of strip crowns for restoring anterior primary and permanent teeth.
This initiative reflects BUDC’s commitment to advancing dental education by providing house officers with both foundational knowledge in pediatric dentistry and the latest evidence-based practices.
The workshop, titled “Innovative Techniques to Improve Aesthetic Build-Ups Using Strip Crowns,” was designed for house officers including interns from other universities at BUDC’s dental hospital.
Dr. Aneeka Anwar, Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at BUDC, delivered an insightful lecture on the indications for using strip crowns and the latest research supporting their success.
Participants then engaged in a hands-on session where they practiced the strip crown technique on phantom heads, guided by Dr. Aneeka Anwar, Dr. Imtiaz ul Haq, and Dr. Umeed Javaid. The department provided all necessary materials to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
At the workshop’s conclusion, Prof. Kashif Naqvi, Principal of BUDC, and Prof. Shama Asghar, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Operative Dentistry, presented shields to Dr. Aneeka, Dr. Imtiaz, and Dr. Umeed as a token of appreciation.
Certificates were awarded to all participants and facilitators in recognition of their contributions and achievements.
