KARACHI: In an effort to promote oral health awareness and provide essential dental care to children, the Faculty of Community Dentistry, including Dr. Adnan and Dr. Amber from Dow Dental College (DDC), recently visited SAJ Academy.
This community outreach initiative focused on conducting comprehensive dental checkups and educating children on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene.
Children from various age groups received thorough dental examinations, with a particular focus on identifying the prevalence of dental caries. Detection of caries among many of the children highlighting the need for improved dental care and awareness.
The children were taught essential oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing techniques, the importance of regular dental checkups, and dietary advice to prevent dental caries. To reinforce these messages, the visiting team distributed dental kits among the children.
This visit to SAJ Academy is part of the Faculty of Community Dentistry’s commitment to community service and public health.
By reaching out to communities and providing essential dental care and education, the faculty aims to address dental health disparities and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
