KARACHI: The Department of Operative Dentistry at Ziauddin Dental College, Karachi, recently organized a Clinical Case Competition, providing final-year students with a platform to exhibit their clinical expertise under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Asmat Jameel, Head of the Department.
The event featured an esteemed panel of judges, including Dr. Javeria Khan, Assistant Professor of Operative Dentistry at Dow Dental College, DUHS, and Dr. Afifa Razi, Professor and Head of Oral Medicine at Ziauddin College of Dentistry, Ziauddin University.
Adding to the grandeur of the occasion was the presence of Prof. Dr. Wahab Buksh Kadri, Principal of Ziauddin Dental College. Distinguished faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Hina Ahmed, Dr. Sadaf Ali, Dr. Pooja Balani, Prof. Dr. Sarwat Memon, Dr. Saima Qureshi, Dr. Atif Iqbal, Dr. Usman Bashir, Dr. Fizza Ali Abidi, and Dr. Kapil Kumar, also attended and shared their invaluable insights into operative dentistry.
The competition witnessed outstanding performances by all participants. Fizza Ali emerged as the winner, followed by Neelam Zahra as the first runner-up and Mir Osheesh Mari as the second runner-up. The remaining participants, Umaiya Altaf and Sukaina Hussayn Naqvi, received certificates of participation, recognizing their dedication and effort.
In addition to highlighting students' clinical skills, the event served as a hub for networking and knowledge-sharing among seasoned dental professionals. It reaffirmed Ziauddin University's commitment to cultivating the next generation of skilled dental practitioners and advancing dental education in Pakistan.
