PMDC collaborates with HEC to revise medical curriculum

By Our Staff Reporter ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has been assured by the Higher Education Commission, that it is committed to support and cooperate towards the revision of medical and dental curriculum in the country, with the aim to bring it at par with the global standards. According to media reports; The assurance was given by HEC Chairman - Dr Mukhtar Ahmad to the PMDC President - Professor Masood Hameed, during a visit to the PMDC main office in Islamabad, for a meeting of the National Curriculum Review Committee, to discuss changes in MBBS-BDS curriculum. Later, Dr Mukhtar told reporters that; the HEC-PMDC cooperation on curriculum revision would help improve professional capability of students enrolled at medical and dental colleges. He said the HEC was ready to provide PMDC with every possible technical support for the revision of medical and dental curriculum, which was the need of the hour.  The HEC chairman appreciated the PMDC’s efforts and said it had done a lot to ensure good standards of medical and dental education in the country.
