KARACHI: Bahria University Health Sciences Campus Karachi (BUHSC-K) organized a Commencement Day, and White Coat Ceremony for 12th batch of BDS, 3rd and 11th batch of BSN (Cadets and civilians) recently.
The event marked the beginning of the fresh students academic journey of dental education and practice.
Bahria University Medical College (BUMC) Principal and Health Sciences Dean Maj Gen Prof Dr Shehla Baqai Hilal-e-Imtiaz (M) was the chief guest of the ceremony, also attended by PNS Shifa Commandant Surg. Commodore Muhammad Rafiq.
The ceremony began with welcome address by the Bahria University Dental College Principal Prof. Dr. Syed Kashif Naqvi who encouraged and guided the students, highlighting the academic progress and process of BDS study program, institute’s infrastructure and accomplishments. Surg. Commodore Muhammad Rafiq also addressed the students, encouraging them to excel in the field by showing dedication, compassion, responsibility, hard work and devotion.
On the occasion, a short video clip showing the 12-year journey of the institute was shown to the audience.
The chief guest in his address enlightened the parents and guardians about the terms and policies set by the institute’s management to enable them to keeping an eye on the students’ performance throughout their academic years.
The chief guest, along with other senior faculty of Bahria University Health Sciences (BUHS) presented traditional white coats to the newly-inducted students.
The event also featured an oath-taking ceremony, where the students pledged their commitment to uphold the principles of ethics, integrity and professionalism in their practice.
The new students also participated in a sign-in ceremony, promoting unity and sense of belonging to the institute. The event concluded with a group photograph and refreshments.
