President Alvi shows concern about doctors leaving Pakistan

KARACHI: Dr Arif Alvi recently said that Pakistan could not afford doctors leaving the country for jobs abroad in a ceremony.

While addressing at the inauguration ceremony of 34th International Pak Orthocon 2021 organised by the Pakistan Orthopaedic Association (POA), President Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi said that Pakistani doctors were leaving the country to find jobs abroad, and it was unaffordable.

 He informed that about 0.9 million nurses were needed in the health sector of the country. To ensure the availability of a maximum number of doctors and nurses among the masses, the president stressed the authorities to lessen the training periods of medical professionals.

He also emphasised the preventive healthcare system and the promotion of hybrid learning.  He insisted people adapt to physical activities and avoid irresponsible eating.
