Islamabad Pakistan Medical Commission has managed to successfully conduct MDCAT exam. MDCAT-2022 was a paper-based exam, held single day at National & International venues through provincial public universities supervised by PMC.PMC and test conducting all provincial universities successfully arranged the context.
President PMC Prof Dr Noshad Ahmad Shaikh stated that the future of the students is PMC's top priority and that the institution is working tirelessly to facilitate them.
He added that 204253 students from Pakistan appeared in the MDCAT exam. Moreover, the total registered candidates appeared in national venues were 203791. PMC also made international centers in UAE and in Saudia Arabia where total international candidates appeared were 462.
Prof Naushad elaborated that in the province of Punjab 83142, Sindh 43994, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 46229, Baluchistan 9238, Gilgit 645, Azad Jammu & Kashmir 2718, ICT 17825, International KSA 222, International UAE 240 candidates appeared in the examination.
He told that MDCAT examination was conducted in the following cities Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Sialkot, DG Khan, Karachi, Jamshoro, Dera Ismail Khan, Malakand, Nawabshah, Khairpur, Swat, Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Abbottabad, Quetta Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur.
Prof Naushad himself was present in Gilgit where PMC conducted the first ever MDCAT. The supervision of the exam was personally done by President PMC.
He further commented that special assistance has also been provided to few handicap candidates who required help to fill answer sheets. He said it is the right of all students to fulfill their wishes and it is our responsibility to help them to fulfil their dreams.
Moreover, the entire PMC staff under the visionary leadership of Minister Health worked day and night to make all necessary arrangements to conduct MDCAT. The students have been provided best facility to appear in the exam.
The Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Patel appreciated the hard work of the Pakistan Medical Commission’s Counsel to maintain the best standards for successful conduction of MDCAT Exams.
The Minister said that Vice Chancellors and examination heads of all public sector medical universities also did a better job to ensure transparency in exams.
“The current PMC counsel has given these exams to Public Sector Medical Universities which has proved that giving exams to private entities is controversial and raises doubts of students and parents.”
He wished all the students and parents good luck for future endeavors saying: “It’s a exam for a complete family not just one student. I know how hard it is to become a doctor, it’s a profession of extreme talent and hard work I wish all these students add value to the medical profession and the country.”
