KARACHI: Taking notice of students’ apprehensions, the Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) Vice Chancellor Prof Amjad Siraj Memon has formed a four-member committee headed by varsity registrar to probe into recent MDCAT paper leak allegations and submit its report within a week.
Dr Azam Khan, Registrar of JSMU, will be the secretary of the committee, which will comprise Prof Syed Masroor Ahmed, JSMU Dean of the Faculty of Medical and Allied Sciences, Maula Bakhsh Shaikh, Additional Secretary of the Health Department, Aleem Uddin from the PMDC Regional Office, Karachi and a BS-17 or above officer of the Director of FIA Cyber Crime.
Holding its first meeting immediately, the committee will submit its report to the higher authorities within one week, along with the meeting minutes.
The committee was formed following students’ allegation that the MDCAT paper was leaked prior to the exam, which were denied by the authorities concerned.
However, the matter will be thoroughly probed to ensure fairness of the exam, JSMU VC has assured the students, urging them to cooperate with the committee and to provide any information they may have about the alleged leak to it.
Those having any solid evidence can send their applications to the JSMU Registrar’s Office.
