KARACHI: The FJDC held a White Coat ceremony to formally welcome the BDS students of its 31st Batch in the presence of their families and all faculty members.

The White Coat ceremony, a relatively new ritual in Pakistan to mark the entrance into a professional medical or dental college, was pioneered locally by the FJDC in 2008.

At the ceremony, the First Year BDS students were provided with white coats, besides awards for their academic participation in the Pre-BDS Foundation Programme held in February, 2023.

On the occasion, Dr Sabiha Mirza, Vice Principal and Head of Pathology at the FJDC, welcomed the students and introduced them to the college hierarchy and assured them of availability of faculty and herself for any sort of assistance required by them.

She also requested the parents to take special interest in their wards’ academics and ensure punctuality by them.

The students were administered the modern Hippocratic Oath by FJDC Principal Prof Dr Tasleem Hosein as a reminder to their responsibilities and commitments as future dentists.

FJDC CEO and Community Dentistry head Dr Syed Hussain Askary informed the students on how to uphold the highest standards in dental care and services for people and the wider community.

Ms Seema Tahir Khan, CEO of TV-One and co-founder and chairman of Interflow Communications, was the chief guest of the event. -PR
