Aijaz Kaleri appointed as member of Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council

KARACHI: Aijaz Ali Kaleri has been appointed as a member of the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council for a period of three years, as notified by the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).

The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation, and Coordination (MNHSR&C) issued a notification stating that the Pakistan Nursing Council, based on the recommendations of the Search and Nomination Committee, with the approval of the Prime Minister and Federal Cabinet, has appointed members to the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council.

The appointed members include Aijaz Ali Kaleri representing Sindh, Fazle Maula from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azizullah Kakar from Balochistan, Farzana Zulfiaqar Ali from Gilgit-Baltistan, Shahid Hussain representing the ICT, Jawad Amin Khan (Secretary of the concerned division or his nominee), and the chief nursing administrator.

This appointment is expected to contribute to the development and improvement of nursing and midwifery practices in Pakistan. The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council plays a vital role in setting standards, regulating the nursing profession, and ensuring the provision of quality healthcare services across the country.

With the new members on board, it is anticipated that the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council will work towards enhancing the skills and competencies of nurses and midwives, promoting their professional growth, and addressing the healthcare needs of the population.

The Pakistan Nursing Council and the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation, and Coordination expressed their confidence in the abilities and expertise of the appointed members, acknowledging their contributions to the nursing and midwifery field.
