The department of Oral Biology BUMDC, held a presentation competition amongst 1st year BDS students. This activity aimed at building confidence, presentation skills and team work in the students, and to further enhance their knowledge regarding the relevant topics.
The class was divided into groups. Total number of 10 presentations were put forward, out of which 4 were selected by Dr. Beenish Fatima, HOD Oral Biology, for the final competition.
The competition was judged by Dr. Saman Hakeem, Head of Department Prosthodontics and Dr. Syed Ahmed Omar, Head of Department Dental Materials. The event was organized and supervised by Dr. Beenish Fatima and dedicated lecturers Dr. Mamoora Arslaan and Dr. Madiha Anwar.
The students presented their topics and responded to questions by the judges and fellow students. Presentations were judged on the basis of content, presentation skills and knowledge regarding assigned topics.
The winning presentation was “Anatomy and Histology of the Salivary Glands” followed by “Development of Face and Tongue”. The winners and the runner ups of the competition were awarded with Certificates in recognition of their efforts by Dr. Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Community Dentistry. Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to the judges and organizers of the event.
Vice Principal Dental Section commended the students for their effort and encouraged such interactive and educational activities to be held in the university, to keep students engaged with academics, through an enjoyable learning experience.
