SARGODHA: The establishment of the Niazi Dental College has fulfilled a long-standing need of 10 million people of Sargodha division, known for its hard working people and world famous citrus fruit, providing an opportunity to the aspiring students to get quality dental education at their native place.
The division comprising 26,000 square kilometers, called the land of ‘Shaheens’ and intellectuals, has three medical colleges, but was in dire need of a dental college so that intending students may be able to get education at their hometown.
Dr AG Niazi, Chairman Board of Directors, Niazi Medical College (NDC), that has been providing quality education since 2018, decided to serve the community by fulfilling the need of the area people and joined hands with Prof Dr Mian Farrukh Imran, (Project Director and NDC Dean) to realise the dream of a state of the art dental college.
A worthy inspection team of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) visited the Niazi Dental College last month and approved the institute, making it the first ever dental college of Sargodha division.
Prof Dr Mian Farrukh Imran, talking to Dental News said: “I feel proud to serve my profession, another feather in my cap and [I feel that] debt to my homeland has been paid. I am thankful to my core team, my worthy faculty, especially Faryal Saeed Abdal, administration and medical education department, supporting staff for making this dream come true.
