LAHORE: Expressing serious concern over the recent sealing of Alvi Dental Hospital, the Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) Lahore Chapter has said closure of Pakistan's oldest and most prestigious postgraduate dental training centre will not only affect patient care but also impact dental education.
The PAD said the move, enforced by the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and the Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC), not only threatens the quality of patient care but also endangers the future of postgraduate dental education in the country.
Alvi Dental Hospital has long played a pivotal role in advancing dental training and education. Its abrupt shutdown poses significant risks to the healthcare system and undermines opportunities for aspiring dental professionals.
The PDA called on the authorities to unseal Alvi Dental Hospital, allowing for the resumption of patient treatment and postgraduate training.
It said the continued operation of this vital institution is crucial for maintaining dental care standards and educational excellence in Pakistan.
