KARACHI: Dr Syed Jaffar Abbas Zaidi MD, Assistant Professor at Dow University of Health Sciences, Department of Oral Biology and Tooth Morphology, discussed 'Biomechanics of TMJ and the characteristics of an ideal occlusion' at a session held for the faculty and students of Bahria University Health Sciences Campus (BUHSC) recently.
He was invited as guest speaker at the session by the BUHSC Department of Oral Biology, under the guidance of Dr Beenish Alam.
At the session, Dr Jaffar held a comprehensive discussion on the topic and explored the intricate details of temporomandibular joint's anatomy, highlighting its distinctive features and masticatory mechanics.
He also elucidated the concept of occlusion and underscored the pivotal role of the TMJ. His presentation style and in-depth knowledge greatly benefited the audience.
After the lecture, Dr Jaffar held an engaging Quiz for the students, and addressed their queries, besides conducting a TMJ examination.
Prof Dr Shama Asghar, Principal of Bahria University Dental College, and other esteemed senior faculty members appreciated the informative and productive session.
In recognition of his valuable contribution, Dr Jaffar was presented with a token of appreciation for his visit to BUHS.
