KARACHI: KARACHI: The Pakistan Association of Dental Students (PADS) hosted the Annual Dental Congress 2024 at the esteemed Aga Khan University (AKU). This year's theme was "Sustainable Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Dentistry: Shaping the Future of Oral Health."
The first day of the event was a resounding success, bringing together prominent visionaries and thought leaders from across Pakistan. Over the course of two days, national dentists and leading experts convened to share insights and foster collaboration in dental care.
The congress featured a diverse array of activities, including more than five workshops that provided attendees with valuable opportunities. Highlights included the Startup Showdown, Dental Olympics, Leadership Training Program, Career Counseling, and Dental Photography.
The inaugural ceremony was a highlight of the event, with notable guests such as Dr. Robia Ghafoor, who delivered a compelling presentation on simulation in Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Zaffar Abbas also contributed with a talk on Integrating Aesthetic Medicine, offering valuable insights and expertise. In his keynote address, Dr. Abbas emphasized the critical need for advancing medical and dental education to meet evolving healthcare demands.
Dr. Aneeqa Aslam, Founder President of PADS, reflected on the organization’s progress since its inception in 2019. She highlighted PADS' strategic focus on advocacy, knowledge exchange, and innovation, underscoring its role in advancing dental knowledge and exploring new working models in the field.
