KARACHI- Students and faculty members of Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) celebrated Pakistan’s 71st Independence Day, in a colourful event consisting of various extracurricular activities.
The university students performed theatre plays, sung national songs, participated in debates, discussed the matter of Kashmir.
Earlier, JSMU organized a debate competition, in which students from various colleges of Karachi participated.
Jinnah Sindh Medical University’s Institute of Health and Business Management and Social Sciences also took active part in celebrating Independence Day.
While addressing the audience, Vice Chancellor, JSMU, Prof Dr. SM Tariq Rafi stated that, it is important for future doctors to remember the sacrifices of their older generations, which have enabled them to stand proud, in an independent country with open access to opportunities of education and progress.
