KARACHI- The department of Oral Diagnosis and Medicine, Sir Syed Dental Hospital (Sir Syed College Of Medical Sciences) conducted oral health awareness and screening camp recently with the collaboration of Medicam Group Of Companies.
Dr Omair Sheikh, Assistant Professor of periodontology and Administrator of Sir Syed Dental Hospital was the organizer of program. The main aim of this activity was to spread knowledge and educate patients from oral health and advise them appropriate treatment if required. The team leaders were Dr Mahreen Shahzad, Head of Department and Assistant Professor of Oral Diagnosis and Medicine, Dr.Raheela Faraz and Dr. Hira Jafrani. Besides, 3rd year BDS students also actively participated in oral health program.
Each and every patient was completely examined followed by provision of complete treatment plan which included, brushing habits, fillings, scaling, polishing, extraction, fluorosis, pits and fissure sealants’ along with any prosthetic and orthodontic need. The patients who were screened afterwards got a small consolation gift which was very generously provided by Medicam Group of Companies.
This experience gave the students of 3rd year BDS a hands on experience towards oral health awareness and screening program. The team and students performed the task with maximum diligence and focus. The co-organizer of the program was Mr Asim Ali (Brand Manager) and Ahmer Abbas (Field Manager),Medicam Group of Companies Pakistan limited.
