KARACHI - The Department of Prosthodontics BUMDC conducted a hands–on workshop on ‘Fundamentals of Crown Preparation - Tips and Techniques'. The workshop was conducted for house officers working at the Dental Hospital.
Dr Sameer Qureshi, who is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Fatima Jinnah Dental College facilitated this workshop. He is an active member in different professional research and specialty organizations. He is one of the founding members of Federation of Implant Dentistry, Pakistan and Academy of Restorative and General Dentists, Karachi. He was co-facilitated by Dr. Saman Hakeem, Head of Department of Prosthodontics.
The workshop focused on crown preparation skills and its implementation in clinical setting. It was a full day workshop commencing with an interactive lecture on clinical tips during crown preparation followed by demonstration on crown preparation in the Phantom Head laboratory. All the participants were handed the typhodont models for performing crown preparation. Dr Osama Yasin, who performed the best crown preparation was awarded an appreciation certificate. Director General, BUMDC Vice Admiral Tahseenullah Khan HI(M) also visited the hands-on area and praised the efforts of the organizing committee comprising of Dr. Farnaz Ilyas, Dr. Anum Baqar and Dr Fatima Hassan.
Dr. Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi, Principal Dental College, presented the appreciation shield to the guest speaker Dr Sameer Qureshi; and thanked him for sharing his knowledge and clinical experience.
