USA: New survey conducted by the American Dental Association shows that a majority of dentists (52%) reported that patients that arrived at the dental clinic for their appointments were not sober.
Marijuana usage in the United States, whether personal or medical has increased significantly in recent times. While the ADA discourages the use of Marijuana, a survey conducted with the help of dentists revealed that many patients entered the clinic high on marijuana or other drugs.
Marijuana usage has become legal in almost 19 states of the United States of America and the District of Columbia. Moreover, medicinally, marijuana has been legalized for use in 37 states of the country.
The statistics surrounding Marijuana use, are alarming for both the health and dental industries alike. Measures should be taken to reduce its usage as cases of poor oral and general health continue to be on the rise.
