DUHS Following Teachings of Quaid -e- Azam

Declamation Contest in light of Pakistan’s Independence Day


KARACHI- Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) recently held a Declamation Contest, on account of Pakistan’s Independence Day Celebrations, at the Arag Auditorium, Dow Medical College (DMC), DUHS.


Whilst addressing the audience, Vice Chancellor, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Prof Dr. Mohammad Saeed Quraishy stated that, “According to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, we have to make Pakistan a prosperous country by illuminating it with the light of advanced education and research. For this, the founder of Pakistan himself has put the core responsibility on the shoulders of students.”


He then discussed how DUHS teaches and trains its’ students based upon the vision of our country’s Quaid.


The event was attended by Prof Sumbul Shamim, Prof Fouzia Imtiaz, and Prof Mukarram Ali, along with senior faculty members and students.


The participating teams belonged to Dow College of Pharmacy and Dow Medical College.


Mohammad Anas and Tooba Ahmed from the College of Pharmacy grabbed the 1st position, while the team of Shaheera Iqbal and Aiman Iqbal from Dow Medical College stood 2nd in the contest.


Nafay Siddiqui from DMC, Tooba Ahmed and Fatima Abidi from Dow College of Pharmacy stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the segment of English speeches, respectively.


Aqsa from Dow Dental College won 1st prize for Urdu speech, while Hamza from Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan Institute of Oral Health Sciences won 2nd and Shaheera from Dow Medical College won the 3rd prize, respectively.


All the students showed great enthusiasm in their speeches, highlighting patriotic statements, and displaying their love and respect for Pakistan.


Prof Mohammad Saeed motivated the winners and participants of the declamation contest. He appreciated the fact that, alongside acquiring medical education, the students of Dow University also contribute to co-curricular activities, to brighten the name of their university.
