KARACHI: A course on important topic of Pharmacovigilance: drug safety and current DRAP rules of ADR reporting was held by The Searle Company Limited and PGA Pakistan in collaboration with Darul Sehat Hospital.
Hospital and clinical Pharmacists from several institutes and pharmacies were enrolled for this course, notably Ziauddin Hospital, South City Hospital, Children Hospital, Darul Sehat Hospital, Child Life Foundation, Ehad Pharmacy, Meri Pharmacy, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, KIHD, Civil Hospital etc.
Dr Beena khan Tahir, Manager DSH Pharmacy welcomed the guests and participants.
Dr Syed Sarwar, Director Medical & Dr Ali Yasir Lead Manager PV Division Searle have facilitated the course and enlightened the audience with their knowledge, expertise and initiative taken by Searle about Pharmacovigilance . Along with the concept, history of Pharmacovigilance, types of adverse events. Various real time case studies were discussed with the participants to give them clear insight of Pharmacovigilance.
Prof Dr Liaquat Raza, Patron PGA shedded light on future market scope, role of Robotics and AI in the effective Pharmacovigilance monitoring. Dr. Zainul Hasnain, Chief Patron PGA presented shield to the guests. Among the guests, Mr. Hakim Masood, FIDS and Deputy Director DRAP honored the session with his valuable comments.
