MIRPUR, ABBOTTABAD: The Community Dentistry Department of Abbottabad International Dental College (AIDC) organized a free dental camp at BHU Mirpur, Abbottabad, under the leadership of Dr. Qurat-Ul-Ain, Head of the Department. The camp provided vital dental care to 40 patients, offering services such as scaling, polishing, Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) fillings, and practical demonstrations of proper toothbrushing techniques.
The initiative was spearheaded by demonstrators Dr. Iqra Sattar and Dr. Muzna, supported by a dedicated team of eight dentists. Equipped with a portable dental unit, including scalers, suction machines, sterilized examination sets, ART kits, and scaling tips, the team ensured high-quality dental care for the community.
In addition to treatments, an oral health evaluation survey was conducted to gauge the community's awareness and access to dental services. The findings highlighted a lack of oral hygiene awareness and limited access to dental care, underscoring the urgent need for ongoing outreach and education.
This impactful initiative not only provided essential dental services but also raised awareness about preventive oral health, contributing to improved oral hygiene in the region. AIDC remains committed to addressing oral healthcare disparities through such community-driven programs.
