Karachi: A team of Dr.Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan Institute of Oral Health Sciences (DIKIOHS), Dow University of Health Sciences recently conducted 'Free Oral Health Screening Camp' at the Froebel's Junior School in Gulshan Iqbal. The event was organized by the Department of Community Dentistry, DIKIOHS. The DIKIOHS team was headed by Vice Prinicpal DIKIOHS, Dr.Khurram Parvez, and the Dow International Dental College (DIDC) team was headed by Vice Principal DID. Dr.Ashar Afaq, Dr.Qaiser, Mr Zahid and Mr. Danish were also present. The Dental team consisted of house officers and dental students who provided dental screening and consultation to the students.
Free dental hygiene kits, sponsored by Colgate were distributed among children. An oral education session on tooth brushing method was delivered. The cases were diagnosed and referred to the related departments for consultation and treatment. The children were guided well regarding importance of maintenance of oral hygiene. The faculty was also keeping a follow up of the patients and scheduled further visits for evaluation and free treatments.
