KARACHI- A score of dentists under the banner of Pakistan Health Care Committee staged a protest demonstration against law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for sealing the clinic of their qualified colleague and demanded of suspension of involved police personnel from their jobs.
The protester were carrying placards inscribed with different slogans like: ‘Justice for Dr Zain’, ‘Suspension of Saddar Police SHO’, ‘Protection of health practitioners’ and others.
The protesters alleged that Dr Zain ul Abdeen, a qualified dentist, was arrested by Saddar Police from his clinic, despite provision of PMDC license and other certificates. The police also physically tortured him.
The dentists urged the Sindh Health Care Commission to check illegal and unethical practices of law enforcement agencies. They said that harassment of qualified dental practitioners and auxiliaries should be stopped across the Sindh province on urgent basis.
The doctors demanded the suspension of DSP, SHO Saddar and others from services and lodging of FIR against them.
