KARACHI: To mark the celebration of World Labour Day, the CEO of Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) gave a message to appreciate the workers' achievements.
Dr Hussain Askary, CEO and Head of Community Dentistry Department, FJDC, said,
"I want to start this message by thanking them for their hard work, dedication, and devotion. Sometimes it may take a while, but diligence always pays off.
This international holiday is observed on May 1st. It is most commonly associated as a tribute to the achievements of the labour movement. This day may also be known as International Worker's Day and is marked as a public holiday in over 80 countries.
On Labor Day, let us promise ourselves that we will never compromise on building our careers and working industriously. If we don't feel like hammering on a project, we will still hammer on the project.
When too many people are unemployed, Labor Day also can remind us that having a job — whether white or blue-collar, managerial or administrative, bureaucratic or entrepreneurial — is precious. We should not take it for granted but celebrate that we have the chance to "labour".
Hence, it is an opportunity to celebrate our team members. You are the heroes; your strength and resilience drive everything we do."
