ISLAMABAD: A Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) student was allegedly murdered during a robbery, while two other persons were injured by robbers in separate incidents in the federal capital.
In the first incident, two motorcyclists intercepted Mohammad Husnain (21) at G-13/4 when he was walking in a street, along with his sister, nephew Usman and niece, police said.
As one of the armed bikers tried to snatch a mobile phone from Usman, Husnain put up resistance and tried to overpower the robber. At this the gunman shot Husnain and fled the scene.
The injured youth was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police said the deceased was a third-year BDS student in Russia and was on vacation.
In another incident, a gunman shot at and injured a motorcyclist, Babar Sultan, working for an online service.
The police said the gunman booked a ride from Koral to Nogazi graveyard and after reaching the destination shot Sultan and took away his motorcycle.
Meanwhile, gunmen also shot at and injured a man in Sngjani, the police said, adding that the injured was identified as Shoaib, a driver.
According to police, two men booked the pickup driven by Shoaib from Wah Cantonment to Sangjani and after reaching the destination shot the driver.
The injured man was shifted to hospital, where he was kept under observation by doctors, the police added.
