Karachi: The students of 2nd Year BDS from Sindh Institute of Oral Health Sciences, JSMU, conducted an awareness campaign at Abdullah Shah Ghazi Street School, Karachi, under the supervision of their faculty members, Dr. Anita Shah, Dr. Aqsa, Dr. Imran and Dr. Mariam Azfar, Head Of Department, Community Dentistry.
During the campaign, children from street school were made aware of their oral health status, and measures that they can take to improve their oral health, by protecting their teeth from dental caries and plaque build-up. Correct brushing technique and frequency was duly demonstrated on artificial teeth models for effective learning. The kids enjoyed and showed great interest in this educational session.
At the end of the campaign, Oral Health Kits as gifts, were distributed amongst the school children, to help them in implementing their newly learned oral hygiene steps.
