KARACHI: The Bahria University Dental College (BUDC), in collaboration with Colgate Pakistan and Inner Wheel Club, conducted free dental checkup of students at the Taleemgah Dukhtaran-e-Awam Trust High School, DHA, besides an awareness lecture on World Oral Health Day.
In this connection, a team of BDUC Periodontology Department, comprising department head Prof Dr Farzeen Tanwir, Assistant Professor Dr Ahmed Bin Khalid, Senior Registrar Dr Natasha Zaidi, and house officers, visited the school. Senior Lecturer Dr Mohsin Haider from the Community Dentistry Department also accompanied the team.
On the occasion, Dr Farzeen Tanwir delivered a lecture on oral health, followed by screening of a video on the subject by Colgate.
Dr Tanwir said good oral health can help you live a longer, healthier life. She said World Oral Health Day aims to educate people about oral health and oral problems. It is advocated for a population where resources and manpower are compromised.
Dental checkup of the schoolgirls was carried out by house officers under the supervision of BDUC faculty members.
The principal, as well as the Inner Wheel Club members appreciated the efforts of the BUDC team and Colgate Pakistan.
