Karachi: The Medical and Dental Colleges Admissions Test (MDCAT) that was scheduled for October 18 in Sindh has been postponed. The MDCAT was all set to conduct by admitting university, Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences (PUMHS).
The real reason for postponing the MDCAT was the verdict of Sindh High Court (SHC).
Earlier, some students petitioned the SHC and contended that a tug of war between the federal and provincial authorities had resulted in confusion about the syllabus and criteria of National Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) and provincial tests. The court then issued notices to the federal and provincial authorities concerned on a petition filed against admission tests for medical and dental universities and colleges.
After hearing the arguments, a division bench of the SHC postponed the test until the resolution of the dispute between the federal and provincial governments over Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) Act 2020.
The petitioner's lawyer, Jibran Nasir shared the verdict, congratulating students who filed case.
