Workshop on Diabetes Mellitus for Dental Health Care Professionals
Karachi: A workshop titled ‘Diabetes Mellitus for Dental Health Care Professionals’ was conducted by Department of Oral Pathology and General Medicine, Bahria University Health Sciences Campus - Karachi (BUHSC-K), on 1st September, 2022.
The head of Department of Oral Pathology, Prof Dr Daud Mirza and Head of Department General Medicine, Prof Dr Muhammad Sajid Abbas Jaffri spearheaded the entire event. Other notable faculty members that took part in organization of the event were Dr. Afsheen Maqsood, Dr M Shahrukh Khan Sadiq, Dr Jaweria Zeeshan and Dr Samra Faheem.
The event started with the informative lecture of Prof Dr Daud Mirza that was focused upon exploring relationship between Diabetes Mellitus and oral health. It was followed by a holistic lecture, delivered by Prof Dr Muhammad Sajid Abbas Jaffri, that encompassed pathogenesis, management and treatment of Diabetes Mellitus.
Afterwards, a hands-on practical was arranged for the students for enhancing the learning experience. The entire event was highly appreciated by the respected Principal Dental College Prof Dr Wahab Buksh Kadri and Vice Principal Dental College Prof Dr Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi, who collectively lauded the dedication of the organizers and their sincere efforts to spread oral health awareness among the students. BUHSC-K is determined to organize more of these beneficial events for its patients in the future. The event was sponsored by Novo Nordisk.
